General Information

Spreads and Cookies - Very important to our Band Kids!! It’s food before the game—and maybe afterwards—too! Please sign up to participate in planning or providing something for the spreads. Food, $$$, or whatever you can do to help is appreciated. Also this year we are planning to serve snacks to the visiting bands….hospitality goes a long way…if you can bake cookies…we need you!  Contact  Sue Thompson at 882-8038 or sthompson@hondros.edu .

Instrument Watchers – We need several parents to help watch instruments during the 3rd quarter while the "kids" take a break. A very easy job!

50/50 Raffle - This is potentially one of the most successful fundraisers for the band. Come early before game and convince all walking through the gate to buy 50/50 tickets—last year the pots ranged upwards of $500 to the lucky ticket holders!! We really need your help here! See Gary Holloway or call 882-9112 or e-mail him at ghollowa@insight.rr.com .

Uniform Care Committee - We need volunteers to help hang up uniforms after each game, so they don’t mold!! Also volunteers to take some uniforms home as needed to wash them…Got a good washing machine? This job is for you!! We have a few sewing jobs that will need to be done this year – if you know which end of the needle to hold! Please see Peggy Shield or cal her at 659-0190

Spring Band Trip and Competition - More details of this will be available soon - if you would like to help plan and coordinate or chaperone the trip – Jim Purcell is the chairman again this year. Stay tuned for more information around the holidays!

Sub Sales – These are really fun. New this year; we are having two (2) Sub- Sales. Several volunteers are needed to help assemble subs. The first sub sale is in  November . The second date is to be announced---Traditionally, the team will assemble 2000 subs in 2 hours or less!!!

Band Banquet - the night to celebrate the band, flag corp., and dance team and all their accomplishments….will be held in the early Spring. A wonderful way to honor the members and the staff. Be part of the team that coordinates the dinner. Contact  Sue Thompson at 882-8038 or sthompson@hondros.edu .

Please sign up for any and all activities that support the Band, the Flag Corp and The Dance team—Our kids have been working very hard and need all our support to have a successful year!! Please feel free to contact any of us for any reason. You are always welcome at Band Booster Meetings. The first meeting is on September 2, 2009 after the 9th period class.
